Imani rolled over and groaned as she looked at the caller ID.

“What?” she answered.

“What? Why you leave like that? I told you I was comin’ right back.”

“I didn’t feel like waiting. I can sleep alone in my own bed, which is what I’m about to do.”

“Why you mad? You know how this shit gets.”

“And I understand but I don’t wait around for nobody.”

“Well if you would have stayed I would have made it up to you.”

“That’s alright.”

Darius was at a loss for words. Imani was definitely a different kind of bitch. It seemed that no matter what he did or how he did it, it was never enough for her. Yes, he was getting money thanks to her, but she had asked him to. He had been what she needed at the moment and he still was. He was doing all of the work and she was getting all of the credit.

Fuck it. All I really care about is the money, he told himself. Bitches come and go. Fuck ‘em. He said this but he really did care about Imani. She had been as sweet as sugar cubes a few months ago but now she was acting cold and uninterested. He wondered if she was fucking another nigga back home but he knew that Natalie would have told him if she was.

Maybe she PMSing or something he shrugged.

“Aiight baby. I guess Imma take a cold shower and call you in the morning. I’m sorry we couldn’t spend more time together.”

Imani hung up the phone without saying goodbye and turned her ringer off. Weak ass, she thought. She loved getting her way but she hated a man that was always apologizing and giving in so easily. A man shouldn’t answer to a woman. She was the kind of chick that liked to talk shit and make demands but secretly wanted a man that could put her in her place.
